Intra Ocular Pressure "IOP" is one many ways we use to monitor the advancement of glaucoma in a patient along with changes in the visual field, OCT ganglion cell changes and changes in the appearance of the optic nerve. This literature review will look at different studies of a new contact lens that has been used for monitoring IOP around the clock. The SENSIMED Triggerfish has been used recently in many studies to check te IOP fluctuations that happens during the full 24 hours and when the patient is asleep. This was studied to determine the benefits of over the clock monitoring in treating and preventing progression in patients diagnosed with glaucoma and receiving treatment. Studies available in the literature were not decisive if the measurements that the contact lens obtains were accurate, the interpretation of the data obtained by this device also is not fully understood and many studies are being done to further help analyze and understand this data.
